Process Paper
For our first topic we were going to do world war two airplanes but we could barely find any information for that topic. So we had to switch. To get another topic we went to nhd.org and went to the list of topic ideas. Their were a few topics that were good but the one that we liked the was most was, The Sinking of the U.S.S. Maine and that sounded like an interesting topic so we switched to that. Then we looked for some information for it just to make sure we could find some. We found a lot of information so we decided for sure that this was going to be our topic.
The way that we conducted most of our research is we used our school's website. It has a lot of good websites with information about it on our topic. Since we were using this the sources we got our information from was very reliable. Also since we were using our school's website that had links to other websites we didn't have to go to Google to get a lot of our information. The only thing we did go to Google for was some of the pictures we used for our website. Also we used Google for only one secondary source and the rest were on the websites linked to our school website.
We chose the website because we thought it would be easier for us to do since we are working in a group. That is because we can both work on it at the same time since it is online and that will make so we don't have to go to each others houses and we can save time by doing that. We made the website very easy to use and look at the information in it. We did this by making sections of our work and labeling them very well so you know exactly what each section is telling you.
This topic relates to this years history theme because this was a start of the Spanish American war and that made a big turn in history because wars are almost always the biggest thing that are turning points in history. The way the war started was that since America and Spain were already not very allies the sinking of the U.S.S. Maine was the last straw for the Americans because this ship was such a precious ship. It was very precious to them because it was so powerful and it had so many men on the ship that were killed. This war has changed the way we think about Spain and how much of an alliance we have with them today.
